Create a product comparison chart/Order samples: To create a product comparison chart that lists the typical chemical analysis and physical properties for each selected product, check the box next to the product(s) that you want to view and then click "Compare Products." From this product comparison chart you created, you can order product samples by checking "Order Sample" at the bottom of the chart column for that product and then clicking "Submit."

Paint and Coatings Resins Acrylic

Thermosetting acrylic resins are produced by incorporating functional groups, such as carboxyl, hydroxyl, amide groups, etc., during the free radical polymerization of the acrylate monomer(s). Thermoset acrylics may also be formulated with other reactive resins to provide cross-linked films with good flexibility, exterior durability, moisture resistance, salt spray resistance and very good adhesion to a variety of substrates. They are used to formulate coil coatings, appliance finishes, varnishes, clearcoats, industrial topcoats, high gloss metallic finishes, car refinishes, fleet primers, fluorescent finishes, etc.

Thermoplastic acrylic resins are generally formed from combinations of poly (methyl methacrylate) and poly (methyl acrylate) polymers to achieve a combination yielding the desired film properties. Acrylic resins in this category may also be modified by the introduction of alkyl groups in the addition polymerization reaction to produce copolymer resins for specific applications. These resins are typically used in the formulation of interior and exterior latex paints and in solvent based automotive finishes. Coatings formulated with these resins have good exterior durability, excellent water and stain resistance and yield films with good adhesion to a variety of substrates.
