Create a product comparison chart/Order samples: To create a product comparison chart that lists the typical chemical analysis and physical properties for each selected product, check the box next to the product(s) that you want to view and then click "Compare Products." From this product comparison chart you created, you can order product samples by checking "Order Sample" at the bottom of the chart column for that product and then clicking "Submit."

Paint and Coatings Resins Modified Alkyd

Alkyd resins are produced by reacting a dibasic acid with a polyol and drying oil. These resins are frequently modified to engineer performance properties and finished film characteristics. Such modifications can provide resin coating systems which yield more durable and more rapidly drying films, controlled film gloss and to alter the flexibility, durability and hardness of the dried film.

Rosin / phenolic modified alkyd resins yield cured films characterized by their toughness, chemical resistance, solvent resistance and corrosion resistance. These resins are used in the formulation of automotive primers, non-lifting primers, corrosion inhibiting primers and enamels, architectural coatings, maintenance coatings and porch and deck enamels.

Modified polyurethane resins are produced by reacting the monoglycerides in the alkyd process with a diisocyanate to obtain urethane linkages instead of ester linkages. These resins have outstanding abrasion resistance, mar resistance, water resistance, oil resistance, resistance to common household solvents and cleaners and resistance to diluted acids and alkalis. These resins are used to formulate scuff resistant coatings for wood floors, chemical and mar resistant furniture varnishes, gym floor finishes, industrial flooring finishes, clear and pigmented marine coatings, general purpose enamels and maintenance coatings.
